Yan Lin is a Singaporean visual journalist and documentary photographer. In addition to assignment work, she devotes her time to projects that focus on community, social issues and the people around her, processing her surroundings and world. She’s aim is to shed light on a lesser-known side of the society and inspire others to care.

In 2021, she was selected to participate in the 34th edition of the Eddie Adams Workshop and was an awardee for Bill Eppridge Photography Memorial Award for her “excellence and truth in photographic journalism”. Believing in giving back to the community, she has volunteered with Pictures of the Year Asia since 2020.. She is currently a staff photojournalist at Singapore’s largest Chinese-language newspaper, Lianhe Zaobao.

Yan Lin majored in Chinese Studies at university, with a focus on theatre, culture, and history in Singapore and Greater China. Outside of photography, she seeks out different ways of understanding people and the world through theatre, film and social spaces.
